whats the difference between a buick 455 and a buick stage 1 455?

Is it just the heads cam and crank? or are the blocks different too?

Blocks are the same.Stage 1 offered better heads and a little better cam.Crank would be the same except maybe have 4 bolt mains.

Where can I buy an american muscle car in England?

Do I have to get one imported? The ones I like are:

1970 Buick GSX Stage 1, 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429, 1969 Z28 Camaro, 1969 ZL1 Camaro, 1968 L88 Corvette, 1970 454 Chevelle SS, 1969 427 COPO Chevelle….

I’m not limited to these, but these are the sorta cars I like. I know the corvette is slightly different but its an amazin car!!

Look on Autotrader & ebay, you can find just about anything between the two.

It is possible to import cars from the USA, but overall it will be extremely expensive.

You will have to get it registered with the DVLA to get a UK number plate.

It will need to pass an MoT test, and may need modifications to do that (eg. lighting) as the American regulations are different to the English ones.

Also, it will be Left Hand Drive – the insurance will likely be higher than an RHD one.

If you find one in the UK, make sure it’s taxed & tested, not an import that someone has failed to get registered here, or needs massive amounts of work to pass the MoT.
